Translation
| In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. | ||
| 1 | Those who disbelieved among the people of the Book, and the polytheists, could never have abandoned (their erring ways) until the clear evidence of truth came to them, | |
| 2 | A messenger from Allah, reciting pure pages, | |
| 3 | Wherein are ordinances of ever-true soundness and clarity. | |
| 4 | And the people, to whom the scripture had been given to, did not become divided till after what came to them as clear evidence. | |
| 5 | Yet they have not been commanded to do anything other than worshipping Allah, being sincere to Him in obedience, conforming to true belief, and performing prayers, and paying zakat; and that is the correct religion. | |
| 6 | Surely those who disbelieve among the people of the Book and the polytheists will be in the hell-fire abiding therein forever. They are the worst creatures. | |
| 7 | But those who believe and do good works, they are the best of creatures. | |
| 8 | Their reward is with their Lord: Gardens of permanent bliss, beneath which rivers flow. They will live there forever. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. All of this is for him who fears his Lord. |
