Translation
| In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. | ||
| 1 | Misery to every slanderer and backbiter, | |
| 2 | Who amasses wealth and counts it (as a safeguard against mishap). | |
| 3 | He thinks that his wealth will (make him live forever). | |
| 4 | Nay, but he will certainly be flung into a crushing torment; | |
| 5 | And what will make you understand what the crushing torment is? | |
| 6 | It is Allah’s kindled fire, | |
| 7 | Which rises over the hearts (of the condemned). | |
| 8 | Surely it will be closed in on them, | |
| 9 | In endless columns. |
